Size Guide

Preloved pieces don't follow today's size labels.

A blazer marked "Large" from a different decade may fit like a modern Medium. A European coat carries its own logic of proportion. At Curuva, every piece includes exact measurements — because we believe in the reality of fit, not the fiction of labels.

How to Measure Yourself

Use a soft measuring tape. Take measurements over light clothing or directly on the body. All Curuva listings include measurements in both inches and centimeters.

Clothing

  • Shoulders — From shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the upper back.
  • Chest / Bust — Across the fullest part of the chest, under the arms.
  • Waist — Around the narrowest part of your torso.
  • Hips — Around the fullest part of your hips.
  • Sleeve Length — From the shoulder seam to the wrist.
  • Back Length — From the neckline seam to the hem.
  • Inseam — From the crotch seam to the ankle hem.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies significantly across countries, decades, and manufacturers. A vintage US 9 may fit like a modern 8.5. We always recommend measuring your foot length and comparing it to the exact measurements listed on each piece.

How to measure your foot:

  1. Place your foot flat on a piece of paper against a wall.
  2. Mark the tip of your longest toe and the back of your heel.
  3. Measure the distance in inches.

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up.

A note on vintage sizing

Older pieces were made when sizing standards were different — and when garments were crafted to last, not to be replaced. Don't let the label decide. Let the measurements guide you.
